DON’T BE A TOURIST

I love this quote:

“If I’d known I’d live this long I’d have taken better care of myself.” –Eubie Blake

Start today by taking even better care of yourself:

  • Produce results at work that says “this is my best”.
  • Be with people who inspire/invigorate you.
  • Make time to rest, exercise, meditate, walk in nature, keep a journal and
  • Read books by pioneering minds that reveal new territories of unimaginable possibilities.

I CAN GO ON but I might be wasting my time, yes? The BIG question you should ask yourself however is this: Will you TAKE ACTION? ‘cause if you don’t, you are just a life tourist.

You know the ones. They talk like this:

“I bought the healthy diet book but still ate my usual stuff”.

“I attended the wellness workshop but didn’t do my stretches and breathing exercises”

“I bought the treadmill and the sneakers but didn’t go on the run”

“I attended the seminar and listened to the audio/video but did not do the written exercises.”

“I bought the fancy leather journal but was too busy to write in it and have a meaningful convo with myself.”

MERELY THINKING ABOUT DOING SOMETHING NEVER CAUSES CHANGE. TOURISM IS FUN but NEVER TRANSFORMATIONAL. Eventually you have to go home where life meets reality.

If it was easy, you would have already achieved the change you seek.

Change comes from new habits, from acting as if, from experiencing the inevitable discomfort of becoming.

GREATNESS starts with taking the first step.

The good news is that it only takes 21 days to sow a new habit. It’s smooth sailing to your favourite destination after that.
